Vibrant Local Food and Retail Scene

Living in Charlotte gives you access to a vibrant local food & retail scene. As this city continues to grow, the local food and retail scene grows too! We love to visit unique local boutiques like JT Posh, Boem, and 2nd Street Vintage for clothing, shoes, and accessories. When we don’t feel like cooking, we dine out at delicious local restaurants like Little Mama’s for Italian, Rhino Market & Deli for a quick lunch, or Oh My Soul for incredible vegan food. 

A Thriving City with Small-Town Feel

According to a recent article by Axios, 157 people are moving to Charlotte every day. Over the last 5 years, our labor force has grown by 10% according to CNBC, and continues to provide career opportunities in finance, tech, and healthcare. Even in a tough job market, Charlotte’s unemployment rate still sits below the national average- continuing to draw people to our city. Even with the growing population, Charlotte maintains a small-town feel that gives residents the best of both worlds.

Abundant Nature and Outdoor Spaces to Appreciate

Charlotte is full of greenways, parks, and a variety of outdoor activities to provide an occasional escape from urban life. Some of our favorite ways to enjoy nature in the Queen City are walking along trails at Anne Springs Close Greenway or Latta Nature Preserve, visiting the Whitewater Center for endless outdoor activities, relaxing at Freedom Park, or enjoying a lake day at Lake Wylie or Lake Norman.

Proximity to Mountains and Beaches

Weekend trip possibilities are endless when living in Charlotte, NC! We’re conveniently located close to the Blue Ridge Mountains, several beaches, and other popular cities. Mountain towns like Asheville and Boone are only a 2 hour drive, while beaches like Wrightsville Beach, Ocean Isle Beach, and Hilton Head are all within 4 hours. If you’re looking for a temporary change of urban scenery, popular cities like Charleston SC and the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill area are each roughly 3 hours away.
